Community centre energy study
A rural community centre in need of renovation was studied with regard to the potential for energy saving measures and renewable energy technology.
Report on energy efficiency prepared by T4
The community centre was visited and a report prepared; the costs, benefits and the practicalities of installing energy-saving measures and renewable energy were studied. Special attention was paid to the opportunities for extra insulation, the installation of solar panels, the use of heat pumps, and the feasibility of a wind turbine. Technical advice was given to the group and their architects to assist them in applying for grant funding. The project has since been successful in receiving grant funding for solar panels and a heat-pump.
